Knupp Finishes 18th at Daytona

For Immediate Release

(2/17/07 - Daytona Beach, FL) - Brandon Knupp, driver of the #28 FDNY Racing Chevy drove to his first ever checkered flag in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Friday night under the lights at the Daytona International Speedway.

Twenty one year old Knupp, a Sidney, Ohio native and veteran open wheel and ARCA Re/Max Series driver in his first Craftsman Truck Series start came to the flag on the lead lap in the 18th place finishing position.

"Anytime you can come into the NASCAR ranks and finish on the lead lap your first shot out of the box is a major accomplishment." said Knupp, "We struggled a little in practice and made some changes and turned in a time strong enough to get us in the show and that alone was one of the biggest goals we had in coming to Daytona, there is always a lot of fast trucks and awesome drivers in the truck series, but we did our job and got in the race." Knupp added, "We are definitely an underdog here at Daytona, we're just a small underfunded team and to come out of Daytona with an 18th place finish just seemed to be the boost that we all needed."

Knupp started the Chevy Silverado HD 250 in the 34th starting spot and from there followed some of the Craftsman Truck Series most seasoned veterans to learn from the best in the business about truck racing. Avoiding several on-track incidents was all part of the strategy for Brandon and the FDNY team, which played into their favor when the checkered flag fell on the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series field. Knupp brought his Chevy Silverado to the finish line unscathed with a Top-20 finish.

Brandon Knupp and the FDNY Team are currently in negotiations with marketing partners and are looking to run a limited schedule in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2007. As soon as those plans are finalized an announcement will be made.
