For Immediate Release
(4/20/06 - Sidney, Ohio) - Following the two superspeedway opening events of Daytona and Nashville the ARCA RE/MAX Series heads to the legendary high banks of Salem Speedway in Indiana for the first short track venue of 2006 and Sidney, Ohio's Brandon Knupp is primed for the task. "I'm definitely ready to get to some real racing and Salem is it for me, you won't find any better short track racing than at Salem. When you get these big stock cars on those high banks it really comes to life." Said Brandon, "Salem is a tough place and has the scars to prove it, she's a real driver's track and I love that part of it."
Although Knupp has only one Top 5 finish at Salem Speedway he has reason to be excited heading into this weekend, he's always had a fast car, but no luck, either mechanical failures or caught in someone else's accident. Beginning at Nashville Brandon and MK Racing switched to Rhyne Racing Engines. The Kentuckiana Ford Dealers 200 by Federated Auto Parts will be the second event with Joe Rhyne horsepower on board and with a little technical advice and input from a veteran driver and crew chief. Brandon is very optimistic about the Salem race.
"We're doing good in the voting for the Racin' For A Livin' television show." Said Brandon, "This deal in itself is attracting a lot of attention for us, as I'm sure it is the other drivers in the voting. We're running those decals on the car at Salem so more people will become aware of Racin' For A Livin', it's like campaigning for an election and trying to gather votes, so Vote for me Brandon Knupp."
MK Racing and Brandon Knupp will have their #96 Ford at Salem Speedway on Saturday April 22 for practice and Pork Pole Qualifying, with the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers 200 by Federated Auto Parts set to take the green flag at 2:15pm on Sunday April 23.
