For Immediate Release
(12/26/07-Mooresville, NC) - Fresh from an ARCA RE/MAX Series open test just ten days ago at Daytona International Speedway, Sidney, Ohio native Brandon Knupp is headed to the Rumble in Ft. Wayne, IN in his own midget.
Knupp tested for three days at Daytona with 79 different drivers participating in the test. Knupp ended up with a top speed just shy of 179 mph, placing him 18th overall in the single car runs.
With the biggest part of the 2007 race season behind him, Knupp has seen a mix venues and competition throughout the year. Beginning with his first endeavor into the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series for the Chevy Silverado HD 250 at Daytona, where he drove to an impressive eighteenth place finish.
With a trio of NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series races, a few outings in the midget ranks and the ARCA RE/MAX Series test at Daytona behind him. Knupp has loaded up the midget and heads to the Rumble in Ft. Wayne on Friday and Saturday for the indoor race series.
With Knupp being the true racer that he is, if there is a race and he has the opportunity to drive he will be there. "I've always liked racing the midget " says Knupp, "it's real down to earth grass roots racing and it's where I got my start and I'll probably continue to do it whenever I get the chance." Knupp added, "I mean where else can you get the mix of such talented drivers, like Tony Stewart, Dave Darland, Rich Corson and hundreds of others, I'm happy just to be able to race against these guys a few times a year. Don't get me wrong I love the big tracks and the NASCAR and ARCA competition but this is basically where I came from and it's always a good time."
Knupp will be at the Memorial Coliseum Expo Center in Ft. Wayne Indiana for the Rumble Series midget events on Friday December 28 and Saturday December 29 with preliminary events beginning at 1:30 PM, Midget Time Trials at 4:00 PM and the main features and events for all classes to follow on both days.
