Brandon Knupp Headed Back to His Roots
Monday, December 26, 2005

December 26, 2005 (Sidney, Ohio) - Most people would take a look at Sidney, Ohio's Brandon Knupp and think, how can this young kid go back to his roots? Knupp, at 19 years of age has covered more ground in his young career than most. He's done the go kart thing, midgets, sprints, the ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series as well as the "Cup" style stock cars in the ARCA Re/Max Series, at places like Daytona, Pocono, Michigan and just about every track in between.

This week on December 29 & 30 Knupp does head back to his roots. Brandon will load up his own midget and head to the "Rumble in Fort Wayne", at the Memorial Coliseum Expo Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Where the event will combine, USAC National Midgets, Ford Focus Midgets and the Kenyon Cars. With 39 entries posted as of December 22, it looks to be a strong field and a "Who's Who" in the world of midget racing. Some top names have filed entries for the indoor race; 2005 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series Champion Tony Stewart is at the top of the list, along with last years event winner Dave Darland, as well as Mel Kenyon, Tony Elliott and Billy Wease.

"This midget race is a chance for me to get back to my roots." said Knupp, "I really like the indooor midget races, and I'm looking forward to having a little fun this week, this Rumble Series race is always a good time and it lets me relieve a little stress before the ARCA deal at Daytona, coming up in February." Brandon added, " I can't wait to get back in the midget, there's going to be some pretty heavy hitters at this race and this just helps me keep my skills honed for the edge I'm gonna need at Daytona and throughout the 06 season."

Preliminary events for the Rumble Series events at the Fort Wayne Coliseum and Expo Center begin at 2:00pm on Thursday December 29 and Friday December 30, with the evening events, heat races, etc beginning at 7:00pm each night and the features set to follow.
